The online services marketplace has landed a significant funding boost to accelerate its growth in the US and UK.

Airtasker has raised $51.6 million in media capital across Australia, the US, and the UK, thanks to strategic partnerships with major media companies.

In the US, Airtasker has teamed up with Sinclair Broadcast Group and Mercurius Media Capital, raising a combined $18.4 million. These partnerships provide Airtasker with advertising access across 185 television stations spanning 86 US markets.

In the UK, Channel 4 has made a follow-on media capital investment of $7.8 million, bringing its total investment in Airtasker to $14.5 million. This deal gives Airtasker exposure to the 47 million Brits who tune into Channel 4’s broadcast and digital channels each month.

These latest partnerships build on $25.4 million in media capital raised since June 2024, which included agreements with iHeartMedia and TelevisaUnivision, the world’s leading Spanish-language media company.

“These new partnerships… will let us really step on the gas pedal and take Airtasker’s mission to empower people to realise the full value of their skills across the world!”

These media-for-equity and media-for-convertible-note deals position Airtasker for a significant global expansion while mitigating risk.

“The structure of our media-for-equity and media-for-convertible-note deals we have put in place since June 2024 make them extremely cost-efficient for Airtasker on a multi-year basis.”

Founded in Sydney in 2012, Airtasker offers an online platform where users can outsource everyday tasks on a budget. With these partnerships, the company is poised to scale its mission of connecting people to local service providers across crucial international markets.
